Birch Hill

Renovation and Additions – Weston, CT   The new owners of this home–a 1977 Shed (more commonly referred to as a Contemporary) that was expanded in 2003–are two retired architects.  Scott Springer Architect was hired to design a renovation and expansion of this house.  In addition to overall upgrades to the existing structure, four new structures are planned for the addition: a dining pavilion adjacent to the pool, an art studio, and expansions to the existing living and dining rooms.  The goal of the project is not to add more construction of the same style, but for the additions to read as distinct new elements of the overall composition which enhance the existing building and allow it to better serve the functional needs of the clients and take advantage of the view opportunities of the two acre wooded site.
